We’ve listed the areas in the order that they unlock (with Thavnair and Labyrinthos being interchangeable) and blurred out the names of dungeons and new connecting areas to help you go unspoiled. If there aren’t four of these on your map, you may need to complete more MSQ first to unlock the side quest.
#LABYRINTHOS AETHER CURRENTS PLUS#
You can tell if a side quest will reward you with an Aether Current by its icon: Rather than being a plain gold quest icon, it will be blue with a plus symbol. (Regardless, having flying in every zone is a must for gathering and hunt trains.) The MSQ-rewarded current typically is the reward of the final quest of the zone, so you won’t really be able to fly in a zone until you’re done with it. You can now access it by opening up the Duty menu, selecting Collections, and setting it to your hot bar from there.Įach Endwalker zone has four Aether Currents you get as side quest rewards and one more current that you get from doing the main scenario quests. With the release of Endwalker, Aether Compasses were moved out of the Key Item inventory and to the Collections section. The green diamonds are the currents you find around the map, and the yellow diamonds are the currents you get from doing quests. You can check your Aether Current progress by opening the Travel menu and selecting Aether Currents. If you think you’re close to an Aether Current, you can use an Aether Compass to tell you how close or far you are away from the nearest current. To attune to the current, you need to approach it and interact with it. Each area has 10 floating around, with five more that you get for completing quests.
#LABYRINTHOS AETHER CURRENTS HOW TO#
How to find and attune to Aether CurrentsĪether Currents are floating greenish swirls of air you can see tucked away in areas of each zone. Our FF14 guide will map out where to find all 10 Aether Currents for Thavnair, Labyrinthos, Garlemald, and the other zones. This last Aether current is located at X: 11.4, Y: 19.0.To unlock flying in the new FFXIV: Endwalker zones, you’ll need to collect 10 Aether Currents for each map.
You can reach this one shortly after attuning to the previous one. You’ll come across this current when completing the main scenario quest called “Once Forged.” It’ll wait for you at X: 10.4, Y: 34.7. This one is at X: 17.9, Y: 16.6, near the second to last Aetheryte you’ll attune to. The first one will be hidden behind a building at X: 22.5, Y: 25.1. You’ll naturally come close to them while completing main scenario quests. The last Aether current of the first half of the map is located at X: 15.1, Y: 13.5, Z: 3.0, on the Western corner of the map in the second level. This Aether current is located at X: 15.1, Y: 13.5, Z: 3.0. To be protected, switch to your DoL class if you have one over level 73 and activate the Sneak effect not to be bothered by the monsters. The current is located under it, so you’ll have to go through the cavern first.īe mindful of the monsters around it. Since it’s located at X: 31.4, Y: 16.6, Z: 2.9, you might try to look for it when you’ll enter the map using your compass, but it’ll only lead you to a ledge. This current is nearest to your starting area and is located at X: 28.3, Y: 6.0, Z: 4.3. It’ll be available on the round arch you’ll unlock after going through the cavern.
“Lost Little Troll” is the only sidequest available to unlock a current before unlocking the second half of the map. To unlock flying in Labyrinthos, you’ll have to complete five special quests and attune to 10 Aether currents. But it’ll take time: although it’s one of the first areas you’ll discover during the expansion, it will be one of the last where you’ll be able to fly since half of the map will be blocked until level 89. For that reason, you’ll want to learn to fly in this area as quickly as possible. Labyrinthos isn’t the largest map in the expansion, but it’s built on several levels. The region will be divided into two areas: Old Sharlayan and Labyrinthos. New lands have been introduced with Final Fantasy XIV‘s latest expansion Endwalker, and Sharlayan is one of them.
